Tumkur: In a terrible accident between two cars, 5 people died on the spot and the condition of 4 is critical, the incident took place on Sunday night.

A head-on collision between two cars took place near Kataganahatti (lakes village) on Kship State Highway on Tumkur road in Madhugiri outskirts. It is said that the family members of Janardhan Reddy of Ettinahalli village of Pavagada had left for Bangalore after Gouri festival and another family was coming to Madhugiri from Koratagere.Jarnadhan Ruddy (50), daughter Sindhuja (35), Triank Deva and Siddagangappa and Nagaraju (30) of Midigeshi Hobali Karenahalli village through Madhugiri died on the spot and the bodies were kept in Madhugiri mortuary.Geetha (38) of Ettinahalli village of Pavagada taluk and her son Yoddha, driver of another car Anand and a 14 month old boy are in critical condition and have been sent to Tumkur district hospital for further treatment. Madhugiri police visited the place. Superintendent of Police KV Ashok visited Gaya who was admitted to Tumkur District Hospital and got information.
